Senior Group Financial Accountant

An exclusive Game Reserve is looking to appoint a qualified CA (SA) as a highly talented, driven and passionate individual as the Senior Group Financial Accountant of the company.

The successful candidate must have 3 to 5 years accounting experience in the hospitality sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain Internal control procedure and reporting structures that is widely used in the hospitality industry all around the world
  • Implement and maintain industry accepted and practiced KPI’s
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and yearly budgets
  • Prepare month-end reconciliations, journal entries and schedules
  • Take ownership of the trial balance, ensuring accuracy of accounts
  • Prepare monthly management pack reports for business units including comparisons between budget and actual with explanations for significant variations between actuals and budget Prepare management accounting information on costings, margins and overheads
  • Support the development, standardisation and implementation of new financial systems and processes to reflect best practice and to ensure efficient and quality financial information
  • Assist with ad hoc financial requirements Support the Head of Finance in advising on various accounting matters
  • Ensure that suitable internal controls are in place Assist with business units’ budget preparation Prepare audit support schedules for year-end audit
  • Oversee all debtors and creditors

Requirements:

  • Experience in financial accounting and monthly management reporting
  • Experience of contributing to successful culture change and new ways of working
  • Experience of working within a group of companies, ensuring that delivery targets are met timeously and within budget
  • Ability to see the wider picture and implications, whilst maintaining an eye for detail
  • Ability to focus on achieving key objectives to timescale
