There’s plenty of activities for for the whole family to enjoy, including a marshmallow braai and epic Karoo stargazing experience. The excitement continues with Aquila’s 35m infinity pool, perfect for families to relax and have a blast. Here, you can jump into crystal-clear waters and feel like you’re swimming right into the reserve.
Climb, swing, slide and explore Aquila’s outdoor wooden playground, offering endless opportunities for active play and outdoor fun under the sun.
Aquila welcomes guests of all ages. Your little explorers can also roam freely in our vast grassy areas outside the Day Visitor’s Centre and overnight lodge restaurant, and discover endless fun at our Kids Adventure Zone and Indoor Play Area. Activities like mini golf, giant chess, a sandpit, jungle gym, toys, board games, crafts, and electronic games are offered to keep them entertained.
Calling all young explorers! Join Aquila’s Junior Ranger Programme (ages 4 to 12 years old) for an educational and fun outdoor experience where you’ll learn about animals, track footprints, and uncover the secrets of the Karoo wild.

While most activities are kid-friendly, please note that certain age restrictions apply to Tranquila Spa access, quad bikes, and horseback riding.
Need a break? As an optional and additional service, we offer child-minding services for your peace of mind, allowing you to relax while your kids are taken care of. Please inquire at reception or contact us about our childcare services and fees.
The great news is that Aquila is a malaria-free reserve, ensuring a safe environment for your family, but remember to check which accommodations include child-friendly lodging. Our Family Cottages, Family Lodge Rooms, and Premier Lodge Rooms are designed with your family’s comfort in mind, ensuring a wonderful stay for all.
