Traditional Vehicle Safari:

The Day Trip Big Five Combo Safari Tour starts with a traditional, 2 to 3 hour morning game drive through the reserve. When booking, guests can choose between either a Horseback or Quad Bike outride for their 1 to 2 hour afternoon combo safari tour.

Option One: Quad Bike Outride

The quad bike experience involves roughing it up across the vast and wild Karoo veld in the heart of Aquila’s wildlife conservancy. The quad bike safari outride is guided by two qualified rangers. No prior experience is required for this activity.

Please Note: Maximum weight per person: 95Kgs. Minimum age requirement: 16 years and older (250cc horsepower quad bikes). There are a maximum number of 10 people per quad bike experience, and only one person per quad bike.

Option Two: Horseback Outride

Horseback adventures include a slow walk across the plains, with possible wildlife sightings and guided information about the Karoo veld and our conservation projects. The horseback safari outride is guided by two qualified rangers. No prior horse riding experience is required for this activity.

Please Note: Maximum weight per person: 95Kgs. Minimum age requirement: 16 years and older. Aquila ensures that a strict one person per horse policy is upheld, with no exceptions.

Game Drives & Safari Outrides:

Duration of game drives, safari outrides, and departure times, are approximate and dependent on the interaction of the guests with the ranger and the sightings of animals.
