Directions to Aquila
Please note that no entry to the Private Game Reserve is allowed without a prior confirmed booking from the Aquila Collection Head Office.
The Private Game Reserve is situated under 2 hours from Cape Town city, 10km before Touws River in the Karoo.

Directions to Aquila Private Game Reserve:Â
- Follow the N1 highway from Cape Town for approximately 130km.
- The road will take you past Paarl, through the Huguenot tunnel, past Worcester, De Doorns and through the Hex River Valley.
- Approximately 30 km after De Doorns and just past the road sign indicating “10km to Touws River,” you will get to the R46 turnoff to Ceres.
- Take the turnoff to the left. Follow the road for approximately 3km.
- You will find the Aquila Private Game Reserve main entrance on your left-hand side.

Summer
(December - February)
Aquila's Weather in the Summer
Expect hot and dry conditions.
Summer Packing Essentials:
Light, breathable clothing, high-factor sunscreen, wide-brimmed hat, comfortable walking shoes, and sunglasses. Pack swimwear for poolside relaxation, insect repellent for malaria-free mosquitos which may bite, and keep an eye out for festive events if you’re visiting around Christmas or New Years.
Autumn
(March - May)
Aquila's Weather in the Autumn
Mild temperatures with rare rainfall.
Autumn Packing Essentials:
Layers for cool evenings, a rain jacket, a warmer jacket for game drives on open vehicles amongst the elements, comfortable walking shoes, and insect repellent for the occasional mosquito.
Winter
(June - August)
Aquila'a Weather in the Winter
Cool to cold temperatures, especially at night.
Winter Packing Essentials:
Warm clothing, including jackets, gloves, scarves, and thermal layers. Binoculars for wildlife spotting.
Spring
